Wednesday marked 14 years of the famous pizza guy story. For those out of the loop:

• May 22, 2010, Lazlo Hanyecz made the first ‘real world’ transaction using Bitcoin

• He paid 10,000 Bitcoin (roughly $41 at the time) for two Papa John’s pizzas

• Today that’s worth $700 million 🤯

Although this story is all fun and jokes (maybe not for Lazlo), this event did show the world something important. Bitcoin can be used for real-world transactions!

It marked the beginning of crypto’s journey from a novel idea to a globally recognized form of currency.
