The Billion Dollar Wedding

Over the weekend, social media was BUZZING with wedding content 💍 

Mukesh Ambani, India’s richest man, just hosted the most over the top, lavish pre-wedding ceremony for his son Anant.

“Pre-wedding” is just a fancy word for engagement party. The real wedding will be held in July and you can expect that to be even BIGGER.

Okay but who is he and what does he do?

• Mukesh is India’s biggest businessman (net worth~ $110 billion)

• He took over his father’s business, Reliance Industries in 2002 and pretty much took it to the moon 📈 

• His company provides services in: energy, telecomm, retail and media. So basically he runs India 🇮🇳 

More than 1200 guests were invited to Jamnagar, including Mark Zuckerburg, Bill Gates and Bob Iger, just to name a few. Rihanna was reportedly paid $6 million for full length show 🤯

With all things said and done, there must be a purpose for this right?

All these names and big stars, showing up to a pre-wedding? For what?

Perhaps there’s some real business opportunities in the country and this pre-wedding is a way to show that potential.

India is an emerging market and having the world’s most powerful people in one place offers a unique opportunity to explore and capitalize lucrative partnerships.
